Training
Through this Orton-Gillingham (OG) training, educators gain a solid foundation in structured literacy instruction grounded in research and best practice. Participants learn how reading develops in all learners, understand the specific needs of students with dyslexia, and explore key components of reading, including phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
The course introduces the principles of the OG Approach, including its research basis, seminal works and brain research related to reading. Educators learn the difference between a flexible instructional approach and a scripted programme, and why OG principles are effective for diverse learners.
Letters & Senses provides Orton-Gillingham training that meets the rigorous standards of the OG Academy, empowering educators with the teaching skills and knowledge that define the gold standard in structured literacy.
Participants also develop knowledge of the structure of the English language, covering phonology, morphology, syllable types and division, and spelling patterns. They learn to design and deliver structured, systematic, explicit and multisensory lesson plans.
Throughout the training, educators acquire practical strategies, lesson-planning techniques, and multisensory instructional routines that can be applied across a wide range of ages and learning profiles.

Hear from Our Participants
This course has greatly benefitted me and helped me understand how to teach phonics using the Orton-Gillingham approach. I am now more confident in teaching students who are at risk of dyslexia or have difficulties with reading and spelling. I can't wait to apply the knowledge I've gained from this course in my daily work.
This is a great course that goes into thorough detail - covering the background of dyslexia, what to expect, what to teach, step-by-step instructions, and very well thought out materials! The trainer is well-prepared, organised and the lessons are interesting and tailored to the local context! I believe many teachers will benefit from this course! It helps one see the English language in a whole new light and perspective. :)
This course has taught me about what dyslexia is, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of dyslexic learners. I appreciated learning about a structured and systematic approach to teaching reading and spelling. I enjoyed the very personal sharing of Huei Huei's experiences, as well as interacting with other course participants. I look forward to deepening my OG journey with Letters & Senses!
It's mind-blowing and educational. Anyone would benefit from this course. The world could always use more people who understand dyslexia, and this course definitely achieves that objective.
The programme is definitely a must-attend for anyone interested in understanding more about dyslexia and teaching dyslexic learners. The trainer is very generous and willing to share everything she knows, and her materials are well-structured and useful. I'm glad I attended the programme!
I think this course is really amazing, especially for a parent with a child facing dyslexia. Before this course, I could not understand why it took my child so long to learn something basic, and I would lose patience when trying to teach in my own way. After completing the course, I finally understood how much time and effort is needed, as well as the importance of using the right method for learning. Thanks to this course, I am definitely better equipped to help my child, and for that, I am thankful!
